The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with apps-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.
1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its biggest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes and the pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, meaning you can tell the robot to stay clear of it.
The Combo j7+ is also the best robot to mop we've ever tested, picking up dirt and spills with ease while leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep in areas that you don't would like. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off by speaking to it.
The design is also more appealing than the competition. It features a sleek, top piece that resembles a toy rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal It also self-empties which will reduce your cleaning time.
In our tests the j7+ performed quick to pick up and remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brush roll kept the debris in one location rather than sending it scattering around the floor. It was able capture sand, small gravel and even a tiny bit of grit. Most robots can't accomplish this feat. And it did all of this without getting caught in our pet's hair shedding.
Although it's not as smart as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum and can't clean stairs, the j7+ is still an excellent option for those who require both mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates and it's sometimes difficult to know whether they're functioning until you actually witness them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best choice is probably one that is a hybrid. These robots come with a tank of water so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also have a range of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. They are expensive at retail, but usually are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock has some of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. It's their cheapest auto-empty model, and while it's not equipped with certain features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles such as wall legs and table legs and walls, which makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums do not excel in. The Q5+'s navigation system is excellent, with few misses along walls and in corners.
The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled with just a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas or alter your home map, or change the room's label.
If you choose to purchase the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make the robot easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it's in place it can be accomplished easily. It has a large LCD screen which is helpful in setting up schedules and adjusting settings. This isn't a necessary feature for most people however it will assist you in keeping track of your robot's maintenance intervals easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and function are among the top available however, it's also expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks beautiful and is easily hidden when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions and chores that other robots would leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. The majority of other robots require this.
Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's the only robovacs that I've tested that do a really good job of picking up debris on plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly in terms of navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs. This means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the house. It also can't climb stairs like other models and isn't equipped with a docking station to create a cleaning area for carpets that are soft.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great option for those looking for a vacuum Robot Vacuum Mops that can do it all.
If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are many alternatives available. Many of the eufy models cost significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and offers a similar in-app experience with more features, including stairs, a fully-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of creating robot vacuums that strike a good balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning on hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at a price that is affordable. It's easy to set up by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on and plug in the charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. The dock should be placed close to an outlet that has plenty of room to move.
The G30 is a tiny device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, so it can fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. The design is less flashy than some of the rival models, with sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.
The main aspect that distinguishes the G30 above the rest is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of the non-movable objects that are in its path, remembering what it's already cleaned and where it can't access. It will return to the base to recharge, and then begins cleaning the area it left.
The sleek G30 has a few flaws. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower monthly costs. It charges faster, offers similar battery life and is more effective on bare floors or low-pile carpet. It comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't require as much emptying. It also has boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand is less expensive and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and it has less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
